Dedicated to my village-you know who you are.
All the epic journeys start with a tribe, a people, a fellowship, a posse if you will.
You see it all the time in the movies or in a good book, people don’t walk alone. Even if they think they will do better by themselves, there is always a friend who follows them or they find someone along the way.
Moving to a small village this is what I am learning. Every good adventure has a tribe.
If not for the people I have begun to gather to walk alongside me and my entrepreunal journey, both as a candy maker and business owner, I would not be confident to know I have a good caramel. I would not have signed up for the biggest festival of the year that I know is the crashing wave to my notoriety. I would not have begun to experience the joy when I hand out my experimental baked goods to my people and then seeing them do this jazzy head nod with a warm smile on their face. I even got a “holy crap!,” from someone. Best. Day. Ever.
I would not know that I have a gift for hospitality in the nature of bringing people together with baked goods. I would not be growing in confidence in this new trajectory for my life.
Simply put, I would not believe in me.
You see, one’s posse, if chosen right, guides us to become our true authentic selves in all the right ways. They will sharpen you and be your greatest cheerleaders. They will laugh with you, they will cry with you-that’s all part of the journey.
As I have gone from big city to small town, this candy maker deeply believes no journey starts until you have a fellowship of sojourners and I have begun to gather with an inspiring and raw group of companions.
