Every Good Adventure Starts with a “Why”

I moved from Texas to Ohio at the end of 2021. When I tell people of this life-altering change, the most common response I get is, “Why?”

I feel at this point I need to sidebar and explain this “why” - it’s not the word itself but the WAY they ask it.

I always laugh a little when asked this because what they are REALLY asking, what is really at the root of this, “why tone” is “why in your right mind would you voluntarily go from warm weather to horrible cold winters?” So this “why” is more like a “whyyyyy????

It’s a fair question. I will admit being here has been a learning curve: things like snow boots, insulated sweatpants (Best. Invention. Ever.), snow machines, salting driveways, where not to park when they snow plow (that was a hard day), school still resuming even after a huge snow storm-it’s true not all states close down due to “Wintery Mix”-who knew!

Every good adventure starts with a “why.”

The “whys” of our lives should be the anchor from which we live and make our decisions.  My “why” is to inspire, gather and create, leaving the world a little better than the day before.

And that has led me to small town Ohio, it has led to me becoming a 3rd generation candy maker…. But more on that to come.
